I may not be around for a few days.

I am in the process of getting a new bathroom.  (Moving walls, installing new fixtures including a walk-in tub!)  My house was build in 1940.  Back then it was top of the line … but there was no running water.  Then, when they decided to run water in, they put the bathroom in the only place they could:  the closet.  (The one and only closet in the entire house.)  To say my bathroom is small would be a colossal understatement!

So if I’m not writing to the blog, you’ll know it’s either because there is so much dust in the air that I dare not turn the computer on … or I’m too busy trying to get things installed and working.

Talk to you soon.

  1. Well … a week later, we’ve got a toilet! The sink is in place, though not hooked up yet. (Happening today.) The tub has been the problem. It’s a tad wider than they said it would be. Too big to fit through our doorjambs, so we had to cut the doorjambs, which nearly killed me because they are beautiful old, wide wooden ones (that somehow managed to escape being painted over).

Once we got the tub inside the HOUSE, we had to take down the wall that they JUST built in order to get it through to the next room because it was too large to go around the corner! It’s been a nightmare. But, the tub is now in the right room. Today it will be plumbed in. Then it’s just hubby and me doing drywall and tiling.

On a really bright note, we took up the old flooring to discover beautiful old hardwood. We’ll be refinishing that and sealing it with urethane.

And now … back to Wild Pink Yondering!
