This is information sent to me by Donna Rodtka, our fantastic town adopter in Rocky Mountain House:
Here’s some pix of our float in the RMH parade on Saturday, and yup, that’s 2nd prize!! When they came around, the guy looked at it and said that he failed to see why/how our float had anything to do with Salute to the Troops, which was the parade them so I said, well, “Breast cancer is a battle too, is it not?” He said that yes it was and then Laureen heard him say something along the lines of he hoped that I would say something like that. 🙂 I could not believe that we won anything – I certainly didn’t expect it.
Yup, those are bras you see hanging on the clothesline, flapping in the wind, and the clothesline posts are jump-standards, thanks to Kippy, who ran out to her farm to bring them in for us. We got a TON of attention along the parade route, some really cute comments, and a lot of well-wishers, both during and after the parade.
Laureen was on the float holding Peanut (and yup, that was real live miniature up there – He was so good along the route).
