Today is a significant day for Wild Pink Yonder

“Heaven on Earth”

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the passing of my stepdaughter and Rusty’s sister, Kirsten Hurl from breast cancer. Kirsten was 43.

She adored Rusty and the feeling was mutual.

When Kirsten would visit from the coast, the only place she wanted to be was my farm because for Kirsten, Janda Ranch was heaven on earth. In fact when she knew she was passing, she told her aunt that “if heaven is anything like Janda, I’ll be happy there”.

Raelene brought me roses this morning and she brought Rusty some Gerber daisies, then we gave every rider and every volunteer a Wild Pink Yonder gel bracelet in honour of Kirsten. This day is for her.

We ride so that no one else will know this pain.
