There really IS a Santa Claus – and his suit is pink!

His name is Ron Yarham.  Tall and thin, Ron is not what you’d expect Santa to look like.  But Ron is.  He is also the Deputy Reeve of Division 3 of Beaver County and a breeder of Lena line Quarter Horses.

Ron arrived in Holden as an official for the county, then again in Ryley.

After the speeches, Ron took over the microphone to tell us how impressed he was with Wild Pink Yonder and the job that we were doing.

He loved our enthusiasm, he loved our tenacity and he wanted to do something special for us.

So every riders’ name was put into a hat for a draw. It wasn’t until he was making the draw that we learned what the prize was to be: a 1 ½ year-old, registered Lena-bread quarter horse filly; a pretty little sorrel with a white blaze!

Once the draw was made, the winner was announced: 12 year old Catherine Sovdi. She may be young but this little gal rides like a burr!  Catherine wants to start barrel racing and this horse will be ideal.

Yes, Catherine there is a Santa Claus (only in your case he’s tall, thin and a breeder of quality Quarter Horses).

Thank you Ron Yarham!
