If you have thought about joining us for Trail’s End this year, you need to know a couple of things. First off, we are NOT at WELCA this year. Their lives are too busy and it will be too expensive to get our police escort, so we are, instead, going to St Albert to the Rainmaker Rodeo Grounds.
If you’d like to come for the entire Trail’s End experience, the cost will be the same as every other day: $50 to register and $100 (minimum) per day in pledge money. If you only want to do the dinner, keep reading.
In St Albert, on Saturday, we have the Canadian Cowboy Challenge, which should be entertaining. If you would like to give it a go, first you must join their organization (cost is minimal — $25). Or, you can come and join our trail riders as they take their last trail ride together.
But the really exciting thing is that we have Dr Katia Tonkin coming to speak to us over supper on Saturday night. She is a member of the Northern Alberta Breast Cancer Team … an oncologist and researcher for the U of A and Cross Cancer Institute. Her focus is exactly what we’re all about. Read about her here. If you’d like to join us for that, pay us what you think the experience and the meal will be worth.
Then Sunday, we’re doing our silly Horse Games. Come prepared to experience the wonderful world of “fill the mojito jug” and other not-quite-regular horse games. And come prepared to laugh … though I’ve not heard that our main source of amusement (Trevor Somerville) is coming. Can you make it, Trev? We’d sure like to watch you “cooler bend” once again. (I promise that Raelene won’t torment you again. Well, I promise she won’t torment you any more than I will! *grin*)
