I have spoken to so many helpful people in Camrose! The Exhibition Association will be putting us up for the night, and I hear that the horses are going to love it there.
We don’t have the day’s ride organized yet, but Camrose is on the banks of the Battle River where the trails are reputed to be fine. There are a number of acknowledged horse enthusiasts in the ‘hood (including one breeder who supplies Clydesdales to the Budweiser hitch!) and we’re being put in touch with some of them. If the Clydes don’t come riding with us, maybe we can go for a tour of their facility in the evening!
Then the Kinsmen have taken it upon themselves to provide us with a steak dinner (top quality beef with Caesar salad and all the trimmings) at the Exhibition grounds so that we can have an evening off to catch our breath and relax. In the morning, the Elks and Royal Purple will do a community breakfast that will include pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, sausages, ham, scrambled eggs and hash browns. There go our girlish figures!
The Booster is donating the front page of their paper to us and the Camrose downtown business association will be fundraising on our behalf. When you consider that Camrose is also the home of CFCW … I think this is going to be a stop that you’re not going to want to miss!
